Dr David Chandrakumar graduated with his medical degree and Masters in Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 2014, being awarded distinction in both degrees and the Ian Webster medal in recognition of his performance.
He then completed his internship and residency in Westmead Hospital, followed by basic physician training at Nepean Hospital. Dr Chandrakumar went on to complete his speciality training in Cardiology at Blacktown Hospital in 2021.
Dr Chandrakumar is trained in all aspects of general cardiology, but has a special interest in non-invasive imaging, including CT coronary angiography, and heart failure. He holds admitting rights at Norwest Private Hospital.
He has had extensive involvement in research since medical school, with his projects being presented in Cardiology and Sports Medicine conferences in Australia, North America and Europe. Dr Chandrakumar has also had extensive involvement in the training of medical students and junior medical staff.
