About Dr Angela Chou

Dr Angela Chou is an experienced nephrologist and kidney supportive care physician with a clinical appointment at Nepean Hospital. She completed her specialist nephrology training at St George Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital, gaining broad experience across acute and chronic kidney disease, renal medicine and renal supportive care.

Dr Chou has a strong research background in chronic kidney disease in older adults. Her thesis, Shared Decision Making in Older Patients with Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease: dialysis or conservative kidney management, won first place in the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Research Awards for Excellence in 2021.

Her clinical practice encompasses chronic kidney disease, hypertension, glomerulonephritis, diabetic kidney disease, pregnancy-related hypertension, dialysis and transplantation, as well as kidney supportive care with a focus on symptom relief, patient-centred goals and optimising quality of life.

She is committed to medical education and is the Academic Renal Unit Co-ordinator for the University of Sydney’s Masters of Internal Medicine course (2019–current).

Dr Chou is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
