About Dr Archit Chawla

Dr Archit Chawla is an experienced Respiratory and Sleep Physician with advanced expertise in lung cancer diagnostics, interventional bronchoscopy and complex respiratory disease management. He is a lead lung cancer physician–researcher and performs EBUS bronchoscopy for the assessment and staging of lung disease.

Dr Chawla chairs the Nepean Lung Nodule Multidisciplinary Team and the Bronchoscopy Service at Nepean Hospital. He is also the clinician lead for the Rapid Access Lung Lesion Service at both Nepean and Norwest Hospitals, helping ensure timely, coordinated assessment for patients with suspected lung cancer.

Dr Chawla also chairs the Cancer Institute NSW Operational Readiness Group, responsible for implementing NSW-wide Lung Cancer Screening. He’s a member of the TSANZ Lung Cancer Working Party too, contributing to national policy, guidelines and service design.

Dr Chawla is completing his PhD with the University of Sydney, where he also holds a Senior Clinical Lecturer appointment. He convenes an Australia-wide course in Non-Invasive Ventilation and has led the full curriculum update for Respiratory Medicine training across Australia and New Zealand. He is actively involved in education across respiratory medicine, bronchoscopy and sleep disorders.
