About Dr Joseph Chiha

Dr Joseph Chiha (MBBS FRACP) is a consultant cardiologist with expertise in general and interventional cardiology. He manages a wide range of cardiac conditions using the latest clinical evidence, combining medical, lifestyle and procedural approaches to support long-term heart health. 

He has a particular clinical interest in chest pain presentations when there are no narrowed arteries, especially in women and is actively involved in research at Bankstown Hospital. Dr Chiha is also experienced in managing elevated lipids and heart failure, with an interest in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Dr Chiha completed a prestigious two-year fellowship in interventional cardiology at the world-renowned Peter Munk Cardiac Centre in Toronto, Canada, in association with Toronto General Hospital and the University of Toronto. This leading centre specializes in advanced approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease. He returned to Sydney with extensive international experience and now performs primary coronary interventions for heart attacks across Bankstown and Liverpool Hospitals, with private procedures at Macquarie University and Norwest Private Hospitals.

Joseph also works as a consultant cardiologist for Douglas Hanly Moir Cardiac Services, reporting on ambulatory blood pressure monitors, electrocardiograms and Holter monitors. Dr Chiha maintains an academic affiliation with the University of New South Wales.
