About Dr Juliana Puppi

Dr Juliana Puppi is an experienced Paediatric Gastroenterologist with extensive training across Brazil, Europe and Australia. She completed her paediatric gastroenterology training in Brazil before undertaking advanced clinical fellowships in paediatric hepatology at internationally renowned centres, including Bicêtre Hospital in Paris and the Paediatric Liver Centre at King’s College Hospital in London, Europe’s largest paediatric liver transplant unit.

She moved to Australia in 2014 and completed a clinical fellowship in paediatric gastroenterology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW), where she continues to work as a Staff Specialist. She is also the clinical lead of the Intestinal Rehabilitation Service at CHW.

Dr Puppi is accredited by the Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (CCRTGE) to perform paediatric gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Her practice includes all aspects of paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology, with strong expertise in liver disease, nutritional disorders, intestinal rehabilitation and complex gastrointestinal conditions.

She is actively involved in education and training, supervising medical students and junior doctors, and regularly teaching nurses, allied health professionals and trainees.

Dr Puppi has a strong academic background, holding a Master’s Degree in Transplantation from Paris-Sud University and a PhD in Gene and Cell-Based Therapy from the University of London. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and frequently serves as a peer reviewer for academic publications.
