Dr Nilakshi Weerasinghe is a Consultant Physician and a Geriatrician with extensive post graduate clinical experience in Australia since 2010. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
Dr Weerasinghe completed MBBS degree with honours and distinctions at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura in Sri Lanka. She trained in Geriatric Medicine in Australia at Westmead, Prince of Wales, Blacktown and Norwest Hospitals. She has conducted research in the areas of Orthogeriatric care of elderly and seasonal patterns of hospital presentations in elderly with common geriatric problems.
Dr Weerasinghe has expertise in the management of complex medical conditions including diagnosis and management of dementia, behavioural disorders related to dementia, delirium, osteoporosis, frailty and polypharmacy. She also has special interests in the areas of peri-operative care, Orthogeriatric care and falls prevention in elderly. She is happy to provide care in Aged care facilities and also conduct home visits when required. Dr Weerasinghe is available for consultation at the Rouse Hill clinic.
